Teaching on Interactive Television

This workshop is offered to users of the Air Technology Network (ATN) and Defense Education and Training Network (DETN).  Content is based on best practices in both industry and government sectors. From project planning to course design and on-camera presentation skills, participants will learn all aspects of developing and delivering effective interactive tele-lessons.

The course has a modular design and is easily tailored to meet organizational and individual requirements.  The goal is for instructors and presenters to become proficient in the following areas necessary for successful implementation of interactive television.

Module 1: Planning
            Instructional System Design involves ensuring best value solutions for cost, scheduling, and performance.

Module 2: Course Design
            Once the course is planned, ensure design elements center around appropriate learning domains and levels. Once these are determined, appropriate instructional strategies and alternative media can be developed.

Module 3: Instructional Development for ITV
            Recognizing and comprehending factors unique to ITV ensures appropriate learning strategies to keep the classroom interactive and engaging. Specific principles ensure lesson plan conversion in appropriate for ITV and incorporates other material.

Module 4: The ITV Classroom
            The conduction of the ITV classroom requires technical, administrative, and logistic consideration. Other practical conduction considerations and teamwork required will be covered in this module.

Module 5: Communication & Presentation
            Presentations on television require certain attributes for your visuals to make the most of interactive television. Understanding the verbal and non-verbal presentation skills necessary add the final touches to your interactive television lesson.

Module 6: Evaluation
            Evaluating for excellence completes the circle and ensures your lessons, and course, meet student requirements and maintain the highest standards.
